Who Do You Say He Is? An Introduction.

January 12, 2015

At the Rock we are currently talking about how we talk about Jesus.  We've been exploring the idea that when Jesus speaks about himself he does it in ways that are really closely aligned to the context he finds himself in. He changes the metaphors and ideas he uses to talk about who he is. He frames the conversation in the places, events, and stories of the people who surround him.

We've been exploring how Jesus talks about himself, the way the New Testament writers talk about Him and how we might start to think about metaphors which make sense in our modern contexts and which reveal the glory of Jesus.

What we're going to do with this first blog series is to invite different people in the congregation to talk about who Jesus is to them.  I'm sure we'll see some different aspects of Jesus revealed as different people reflect on Him. I'm also sure we'll see some common threads which run through these blog posts.

For those of you interested in what we've been exploring on our sundays together you can check out some of the sermons here. Also here are some of the descriptions of Jesus we have looked at and will be looking at........He is....
